Ceramic Vase with Lid, Franco Bucci. Italy, 1970’s

$1,100

Ceramic vase with lid in matte white, signed, F. Bucci. Interior is finished with a white ceramic glaze and can be used for minimal storage for personal objects. In 1961 he founded Laboratorio Pesaro which produced a wide range of objects much influenced by the ideals of Bauhaus, of pure and simple forms, combined with a complete lack of ornamentation. Bucci developed his craft with educational inspiration from the legendary Italian architect and designer, Ettore Sottsass, in Milan. Alongside his founding partners, Bucci’s declared aim was to create useful objects of the finest and most ambitious designs, using a material that is still little known in Italy – stoneware with a ceramic coating.
