Jun Inoue’s 12′ Painted Wall Hanging, Tokyo, 2013

$12,600

Large scale acrylic on canvas wall hung tarp by Tokyo street artist Jun Inoue. Perormance art meets traditional Japanese calligraphy in this work of shodo raku-gaki. Vintage heavy weight canvas tarp was used for this work which was executed on location at the Alameda Antique Fair, CA, 2013. Striking and bold abstract shapes give a sense of motion and energy which is reflective of his American hip-hop influenced street art. The large scaled work hangs from industrial galvanized clips which are secured at the top edge. Jun is also a member of The 81 Bastards, a crew consisting of five leading young painters of Tokyo, each representing a rebellious new wave of Japanese art with a goal to redefine live performance painting.
