Silas Seandel Ribbon Wall Sculptures, USA, 1980’s

A pair of Silas Seandel “Ribbons” of brass and chrome. Designed to hang as a pair, the sinuous sculptures mount to the wall with artists signature and date on the chrome element. His work emerged with importance during the Brutalist movement of the 1970’s, along side craftsmen like Harry Bertoia and Paul Evans and became more refined by 1980. Seandel’s highly respected work is included in collections across the country including installations at the World Trade Center Memorial, AT&T in New York, the Lipton Tea Company and Johnson & Johnson in New Jersey.
